5 MORE ANIME TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THIS SUMMER

Previously we made a list about anime that you guys should be keeping tabs on this season, but we later found out that some other good shows were to be aired this season and just couldn’t keep it to ourselves and not tell you about them. The Summer season of anime begins and here’s a list of 5 more anime for you guys to look out for.

ARIFURETA: FROM COMMONPLACE TO WORLD’S STRONGEST

First of is this Isekai anime based on the manga and light novel of the same name. The story centers around Hajime Nagumo, your typical high school underachiever who doesn’t have any particular motivation. His entire class is summoned to another world as heroes who all have special “jobs”. Unfortunately for Hajime he’s the only person with a non combat job which is “Synergist”. This alienates him from his classmates because they see him as useless in combat. One day, their group is attacked by a monster during a dungeon raid. Fortunately they are able to escape, but not before the monster drags Hajime into the abyss with it. Separated from his classmates in a dungeon full of monsters, how will this change Hajime? And more importantly, with his useless ability how will he survive? Fans of shield Hero and Goblin Slayer should give this show a try as it is also a dark fantasy but blends in a bit of romance with a good plot and amazing character development. The show begins on the 8th of July, 2019

DANMACHI SEASON 2

Finally, the long awaited second season of this beloved anime is getting released. The series follows a young adventurer named Bell, who wants to become strong enough to protect his friends, and also so he can impress the renowned “Sword Princess” who he’s fallen for. Its a show with a great story, good character development and a very relatable protagonist. It also got a movie which premiered in Japanese cinemas earlier this year. If you haven’t watched the first season, it is available on Crunchyroll. The second season will start on the 12th of July, 2019.

A CERTAIN SCIENTIFIC ACCELERATOR

Fans of the Railgun and Index franchises should be pretty hyped up for this spinoff, as it puts the Titular anti-hero Accelerator into the protagonist role. It feels good to know that we’ll finally be able to see what makes this nutjob tick, and what he does with his time when he’s not within the confines of the other shows. We recommend watching both “A certain Scientific Railgun” and “A certain Magical Index before seing this show”. It premieres on the 12th of July, 2019

It seems that Netflix is showing no signs of slowing down in bringing us engaging, story driven, and beautiful looking stories in the medium of anime. This series follows a group of young teens who are cryogenically frozen by the Japanese government to enable the survival of the human race after a world ending event. After a computer concludes that the Earth is once again safe enough for humans to live on it revives the teens from their cryogenic chambers. Awoken from their slumber the teens realise that the world they now live in is very much different from the world they once knew as this world is full of carnivorous plants and many more predators and they can only depend on themselves to survive in the new world. The series premiered on the 28th of June 2019 on Netflix as a Netflix Original.

VINLAND SAGA

This is a show I believe would suit Game of Thrones fans the most as it could fill the void that the incredible series left in their hearts. From the people who brought us the masterpiece that is Attack on Titan, this show looks to be just as bloody and violent, and could eventually become the “Game of Thrones” of anime. It is a story about Thorfinn, the son of one of viking’s greatest warriors. After his father and family are killed by the mercenary group led by Askeladd, he swears vengeance upon him and later grows up to become a ruthless warrior in the very group that killed his family. However, he isn’t a part of the group for any other reason than to kill Askeladd and avenge his father in a fair duel, which he is not skilled enough to currently accomplish. Unable to abandon his vengeance, he spends time with the crew, honing his battle skills in order to challenge Askeladd, when he ends up caught in the middle of a war for the crown of England. This series looks promising and luckily for us, the first three episodes will premiere on the 7th of July 2019 and will stream internationally on Amazon Prime.
